The power lying in the hands of a girl child is undeniable. However, the environment in Uganda has laid her back pressing down her powers. Talk about cases of teenage pregnancy which stands at 25% according to 25% (UDHS 2016), increased sexual violence, poor menstrual Health management indicators, and many others. Investing in empowering the girl child will help to elevate her and tap into her potential. Remember, educating a girl child has a very noticeable impact both socially and economically. She will be able to delay her fertility by more years she stays in school, she will also have a high bargaining power in making sexual health decisions, her preference for less and quality children is improved, she will participate in the economic activities hence economic development of the entire nation. On this day of The girl child, its important to note that every single person has a role to play in empowering the girl child.
