Most of the girl's dreams and aspirations in Uganda have been shattered by their own parents and relatives who marry them off to older men of almost triple their ages in

for money, livestock and many other gifts. This has exposed the girl child to domestic gender based violence, Early Unintended Pregnancy, pregnancy related complications,maternal deaths and many others . In the drive to harness the demographic dividend, investing in the girl child education is very crucial and key. This will delay their fertility by spending their early fertile years in school, education empowers them to be economically independent giving them a platform to make right choices and decisions for their sexual health. They will also give birth to fewer quality children who are well educated hence a chain of a productive population. This in the long run brings about economic development in the country
